Apps and add-ons

Your shop already has what it needs to sell: products, orders, customers, discounts, delivery, your online store, gift cards and sales numbers. Everything else is an app you add when you want it, and only the apps you have added show in your menu.

Where to find it

Open Apps from the sidebar (Add apps, at the foot of the Apps list), or press Ctrl+K and type "add". Only the shop owner can open it. A list of what you have added sits at the top, then Tool packs, then More apps. Each row has an Open and Remove button, or an Add button.

The free apps

  • Email marketing: campaigns, automated emails and your subscriber list.
  • Product reviews: customers rate what they bought, and the stars show on your products.
  • Popup: a discount or sign-up popup for people visiting your shop.
  • Countdown deal: every new visitor gets their own deal with a timer. See Countdown deal below.
  • Ads & tracking: Meta Pixel and Google tag, so your ads can see sales.
  • Age check: asks shoppers to confirm their age before they browse.
  • AI builder: lets your own Claude or ChatGPT build sections and look after products, stock and orders. See Connect your AI.

A new shop starts with Email marketing and Product reviews added. The rest wait under More apps. Shops that were already using an app when Apps arrived kept it.

Tool packs

Some pages only matter to some shops, so a new shop starts without them. A tool pack adds a few of those pages at once, and they show in your menu where they belong:

  • Stock and buying: Purchase orders and Suppliers under Products, and the Inventory report under Analytics.
  • Trade pricing: Price lists under Customers, for trade or wholesale prices.
  • Developer tools: Webhooks and API keys under Settings, the reports builder (Reports) under Analytics, and the order intake key on the Settings page.

Tool packs are free. Shops that were already using one of these pages when tool packs arrived have that pack switched on, so nothing moved for them.

Removing a pack only takes its pages out of your menu. Nothing is deleted: your purchase orders, suppliers and price lists are still there when you add it back, customers on a price list keep their prices, and webhooks and API keys keep working (delete or revoke them first if you want them to stop).

If you open one of these pages without its pack, you see which pack it is in, with an Add button for the owner. Typing the page's name in the search at the top tells you the same.

Removing an app

Press Remove beside an app and a box tells you exactly what will happen before you confirm. Removing an app never deletes anything.

  • Email marketing: automated emails stop sending, and scheduled campaigns go back to drafts.
  • Product reviews: reviews and stars stop showing on your shop, and customers can't write new ones.
  • Popup: your popup stops showing.
  • Countdown deal: the countdown bar stops showing. Deals visitors already have keep working until their timer ends.
  • Ads & tracking: your Meta and Google tags stop loading, and no more sales are sent to them.
  • Age check: shoppers are no longer asked their age.
  • AI builder: your AI can't see or change your shop any more. Sections it already published, and changes it made to products, stay as they are.

Your settings and data are kept. Add the app again and it comes back as you left it.

Worth knowing: if someone opens a page of an app you have removed, they see "This app isn't added" with an Add button for the owner, not an error. Scheduled campaigns that went back to drafts are not rescheduled for you when you add Email marketing again, so check them.

Countdown deal

Open Countdown deal under Apps. Tick Give new visitors a countdown deal, then choose the deal (a percentage or an amount in rands off), an optional minimum order, how long each visitor has (1 to 7 days) and, if you like, your own wording for the bar.

The first time someone visits your shop, a strip appears at the top of every page with their deal and a clock counting down to their own deadline. At checkout the discount is added by itself, so there is no code to type.

When their time runs out, the deal really ends: the bar goes away and checkout no longer gives the discount. Each deal works for one order. A visitor whose deal ended doesn't get a new one when they come back, though someone who clears their browser or uses another device can start a fresh one.

The page shows how many visitors got a deal and how many used it on an order in the last 30 days. Visitors' deals are kept off your Discounts list.

Paid add-ons

Paid add-ons are on the same page, in the same list, with a price in rands a month on each one. Adding one adds its price to your monthly total. Removing one drops it off your next month, and your records are kept if you add it again. The Your plan box lists what makes up your monthly total. We take no cut of your sales, and free apps cost nothing. Add-ons we have not released yet appear as "Coming later".
